I write to say just how delighted I am with the results from advertising with franchiseandbusinessopportunities.co.uk. I was sceptical
initially as it seemed too cheap! However with three leads in from potential franchisees in just hours of our site going live,
I am amazed!
As you can imagine we advertise all over the franchise marketplace and the results are a bit hit and miss. Your website has produced sales leads for us at a remarkable return on investment.
I wholeheartedly recommend your website to other franchisors.

Domino’s Pizza - Richard Johnson
Domino’s Pizza franchisee Richard Johnson is an example of an entrepreneur who took the plunge and decided to take his career in a new and tasty direction.
With over 20 years’ experience in IT, Richard had worked for a range of companies providing the infrastructure and support for them to grow and improve their customer service. His most recent role saw him working for a company, which grew from 30 staff to 5,000 and expanded into 13 countries worldwide.
Throughout his IT career, Richard always had an interest in running his own business and a keen eye for opportunities. When his last IT role came to an end, Richard decided he wanted to pursue his dream to run his own business as a fulltime career and began looking into franchising.
Richard explains: “My corporate background had really given me a sense of the power of a good brand. I knew that if I wanted to run my own business as a fulltime career, I could achieve much more with a well-recognised franchise than starting up on my own.”
Having made a shortlist of franchises, Richard chose Domino’s Pizza for its proven business model and the great opportunities it offered for growth. Richard took ownership of the Domino’s store in Southport in July 2009 and quickly after, added Domino’s in Crosby to his pizza empire.
“Running my own Domino’s franchise is everything I’d hoped it would be,” he continues. “It’s really hands-on and it is very satisfying to see how the decisions I make have a direct impact on my stores. Domino’s offers the best of both worlds – I own my own business but I know I also have the backing of a national company with a very successful brand. It’s an ideal combination as it means I can get on with running my business but, at the same time, benefit from national marketing activities such as high profile TV sponsorships, which is something I’d never have been able to achieve as a start-up.”
Richard is relishing his new career and in the future, hopes to expand his franchise to ten stores.
Advanced Media Information - P. Hosker
‘’I have been operating a successful franchise from Advanced Media Information in the Novotel hotel for over 6 months. I started off working part time, evenings and weekends, building up my contacts and data base of potential customers within the proximity of the Information Kiosk. After only a few weeks I was receiving orders and making commission. To date I have received orders totaling £30,000 from only one kiosk which is fantastic considering we are working in challenging times. I am looking forward to promoting more kiosks with AMI and making them equally successful.
I have received full training and guidance from all the staff at AMI and found them extremely supportive; without their experience of digital advertising sales and on going support I would not have been successful. This franchise is fast growing, recession-proof with low overheads and high income potential. If you have determination and tenacity to succeed this is a fantastic opportunity to run your own advertising business from home.’’

ADVANCED MEDIA INFORMATION
ChipsAway - Clive Lawrence
ChipsAway franchisee Clive Lawrence is celebrating ten successful and highly satisfying years with the UK’s leading specialist in minor automotive paintwork repairs; he has signed for a further five years and says he hasn’t ruled out a further five after that!
“I simply love what I do,” he explains. “I have a great business that has given me an excellent standard of living, I have had absolutely fantastic support from ChipsAway and I can honestly say I’ve never been short of work from the moment I launched my business!”
Clive joined ChipsAway after 30 years running a graphic design & print business and, as a marketing man, was impressed by the ChipsAway proposition – a unique, proven system with high quality products, well marketed, with massive customer demand.
“The franchise is very flexible, there are lots of ways to develop and grow – and the ChipsAway team are behind you all the way!” Clive comments.
Interestingly, during the recession, Clive says he’s experienced no problems at all. In fact new business has continued to roll in at a higher rate than ever, particularly since the company launched its National TV Advertising campaign.
“I’ve been more than happy with my investment in ChipsAway,” he concludes. “I have the freedom of being my own boss and earn a great living too - long may it continue!”

Go Cruise - Ted Knights
A Knights on the sea
Meet GoCruise franchisee Ted Knights, who became part of the network after a chance encounter at the Birmingham Franchise Exhibition.
A chance meeting in Birmingham led to a better work life for GoCruise franchisee Ted Knights.
As luck would have it, Ted was up in Birmingham at the time of the annual franchise exhibition at the NEC in October 2006.
Suffiently interested, Ted went along to examine all the options open to him. In particular, with a keen interest in cruises, Ted found the GoCruise stand difficult to resist. And after talking to the company’s franchise manager Geoff Ridgeon, his life was about to take a significant turn. ‘ I went back home, talked it through with my wife and then we went back the following day. The rest, as they say, is history,’ says Ted.
An accident of circumstance, Ted’s meeting with GoCruise led rapidly to both induction and official status as franchisee. He embarked on the company’s training course at the end of 2006 and officially became a franchisee in January 2007.
‘My wife and I are in partnership for the franchise, but she is still working a separate job. So its a single partnership at the moment!’
Ted remembers the training as a real plus point of the franchise. ‘It was very good,’ he says. ‘I had already had knowledge of cruises as they are still something I enjoy.’
‘What they did was take us up to the company’s head office in Ipswich for three days. We learnt about product knowledge, administration and the systems. They talk you through your own business and all the aspects of it, such as sales and marketing. They give you a good feel for that.’
Another advantage of the GoCruise franchise is that it can save you the hurley burley of having to travel into work. Ted is based at home - because most cruise lines are internet-based and also contactable by phone, the beauty of his work situation is that he doesn't have to have a separate, large office - everything he needs is at home.
The support of GoCruise is another strong element of the franchise ‘GoCruise is always on the end of the phone if you need them’ says Ted. ‘You also have the chance to go on conferences. You get to meet other franchisees that way.’
‘I have also attended three of four meetings for product training and marketing from both GoCruise and umbrella organisation ACE (Association of Cruise Experts).
‘There are alot of different tasks,’ he explains . ‘Part of the franchise is Teletext work, another part is enquiries from the website and chasing quotes.’
When asked about the main aspects of a GoCruise franchise, Ted is quick to mention ‘They do so much’ he says.
‘They do the administration for bookings as well. The information is passed on to GoCruise. You are not taking payments, GoCruise handles them.’
‘Another advantage of GoCruise is that the parent company is Fred. Olsen Travel which has a firm cruising heritage. That gives the franchise a high level of credibility.

From the beginning, I have been given every support to start my business distributing Benzola products. Help with choosing stock and selection of shops has been vital. However, success is a journey and takes hard work and commitment but I already know it is achievable. After three months trading , I have learnt so much. The right product in the right shop will sell! This is so heartening to know especially for someone like me who took this on with no retail experience. I am looking forward to a long, happy and successful association with Benzola Enterprises.

“Paul and Christine swap courtroom and classroom for better lifestyle.
Paul and Christine Urbanowicz own their Time For You franchise in Newcastle.
Seven years ago Paul was working as a solicitor and Christine a teacher when they decided to explore the option of buying a franchise. They were working long hours for little reward and wanted to do something together that they could grow and call their own.
Time For You was an obvious franchise choice for Paul and Christine. They were primarily attracted by the simplicity of the business, the low fixed management fee and low initial payment. With other franchise options, the management fee can be high and it can take a long time to start making a profit.
The network of other franchisees, as well as the backing of franchisors Freddie and Ruth Rayner, was also a major draw. They offered help and advice that other franchises lacked and have been amazingly supportive from day one.
Paul said: “Starting a franchise is like starting any new business from scratch. The main difference is that you’re buying into a tried and proven method, you’re trained to apply that method, and you have ongoing support along the way.”
The couple are keen to point out that it’s not easy money; they have had to put in the hours to get the results. One thing that Paul and Christine underestimated about the business was how important it is to get the chemistry right between cleaner and client – they liken it to running a dating agency!
Paul said: “I think many people buying a franchise believe it is an easy way to make money – it’s often promoted that way. Well, it isn’t easy! You must be prepared to work hard to achieve your goals but, with a Time For You franchise, you do have all the tools necessary to succeed.”
They would recommend Time For You to anyone considering a franchise but suggest that you think about the commitment and energy you will need to make the business grow. You should also ensure that you have some money behind you to help you out in the first months.
Ultimately, they say that if you’re prepared to put in the hard work required, you will eventually be rewarded with a thriving business and a much better work/life balance.”

After a successful career in the automotive industry, Ian Beasleigh was searching for a new challenge. He found what he was looking for in the Just Shutters franchise; a friendly professional business with a respected brand, exceptional product and proven track record.
"I was looking for a complete change, which a Plantation Shutter franchise most certainly was! The numbers stacked up on the Just Shutters business model and I liked Chris and Helen's approach to business. The initial investment is excellent value for money, and I am aiming at generating the projected £175,000 turnover in Year 1. So far everything is going really well with orders coming in from week 1. I am pleased I invested in starting my Reading and Thames Valley Just Shutters business."
Most recently Ian was the General Manager of a multi-dealership site in Reading. He built his career as an accountant within the motor industry working with some well known brands along the way, initially Ford and Honda, then moving into Jaguar, Aston Martin, Land Rover, and Lamborghini.
Ian works from his home office, uses his garage for storage of stock and is otherwise out and about his local area in his Just Shutters van. Being around home and structuring work around his lifestyle means he sees more of his family.
Ian loves nothing better than to have a kick-about with his sons, aged 18, 16, and 11. He enjoys football and golf, walking the dog and tending to the families chickens!
Ian's goals are to pay off the mortgage, spend more time with the family and feel in control of his future. Ian enjoys dealing with people and Just Shutters gives him the opportunity to provide the best brand in the market where customers really appreciate the quality of the product and service.

"I seriously considered starting up on my own, but I felt that a franchise would offer me all the benefits with hardly any of the risk! I have been really impressed by the level of support and guidance I have received from Chris. I believe I have saved a lot of money by investing in a franchise rather than going it alone.
It's great to see that things are already taking off with my first four orders confirmed, and another in the pipeline in the first few weeks of trading..."
